Horrible game mechanics

I want to like this game, but I cant. It starts out being so much fun, and then the auto-difficulty adjuster messes everything up. How can I go from being MVP to nothing for three years, then back to MVP hitting 2-4 homeruns a game for years, then after a 7-RBI, 5-homerun game, my coach tells me Im playing lousy and gives me a debuff that lasts half the season. What the hell. This is stupid.
